Audacity Forum

I really am not sure if it is an audacity problem or not, but when I know I can't save my projects as mp3's unless I have the lame software. So I have downloaded lame over and over and removed it over and over... and different versions... the problem is that when I extract the lame files and try to open it, my computer does the thing where a box pops up, telling me to either choose a program myself or look up windows' recommended program. Basically, it never lets me open the file, I guess because it's a ".dll" file..... any help would REALLY be appreciated...

That's a Dynamic Link Library. Windows understands that just sitting there. The instructions should have told you where to put it so Audacity and Windows can find it.
