Error while opening sound device. Please check the output d

Post by cgcurrier » Sun Jul 06, 2008 4:59 pm

Friends:

I have received the error mesasage " Error while opening sound device. Please check the outpur device settings and the project sample rate." I am using version 1.2.6.

I googled the error message which led to a posting which required that I register, which I did. I tried to reset the "Sounds and Audio devices Properties", but all the selections are blank & will not allow me to reset same.

As I am new to this service, I provide my e-mail address to anyone who might be able to enlighten me or to suggest how I might repair the problem. I am "[email protected]". I am a criminal defense lawyer trying to play a "WAV" recording made from a local police video & 911 tape.

With best wishes to all,

Charles Currier

It is a stunningly bad idea to post your email address on a public bulletin board. I have removed it. Your email service will vanish under a ton of junk mail. I will put it back if you want me to, but let's see if we can resolve this without it.

You can open up the WAV file in Audacity, right? Do you get the bouncing green sound meters when you play the file?
