how to put VST on audacity??
i just downloaded audacity...and i see it doesn't have a reeverb effect im trying to put "classic reverb" VST in the audacity plug-in folder. But when i start it up i don't see it in the "effects". Can someone help me with this??
Re: how to put VST on audacity??
Try G-verb instead, I think it is in the LADSPA plug-in pack available from the main Audacity web site.
The best way to use reverb effects in Audacity (particularly G-Verb) is to duplicate the track first (Edit menu) then apply the reverb to the duplicate track. You can then mix the wet and dry tracks to get your desired balance.

Re: how to put VST on audacity??
I couldn't remember exactly where I got it from, but see this page: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=GVerb
I quite like G-verb, but the Default reverb time is far too long for most purposes - try cutting it down to about 1,5 seconds for something more realistic.
If you want pre-delay with your reverb, use the time-shift tool to drag the wet track a bit to the right (try about 40 ms) - This will keep a sense of depth from the reverb, but will also help keep the vocal up-front.
There is also a link to Freeverb which is pretty good too.
I'm not a big fan of VST effects in Audacity - the GUI is just a generic one, so they can be difficult to use, even if they work (which quite a few don't).

Re: how to put VST on audacity??
Hello! I do not remember where I originally got the Classic Reverb from, but I have saved it to my website, so I can use it over and over and also make available for other people. The link is: http://www.flaming-point.com/Classic%20Reverb.dll
But you do have to copy and paste it into the PLUG-INS folder in Audacity. Hope this helps!
