Would you be able to try it on a different computer?

No I wasn't. I'm fairly sure that's not the issue though. The LED light on the mic lights up and they sent me a whole new mic with the same issue. I highly doubt it has something to do with the microphone. Although Windows 7 is telling me there's an unknown error everytime I try to update my computer. I think that might be part of the issue... I'm not sure. I'm going to try calling Microsoft tech support.steve wrote:Would you be able to try it on a different computer?

It works for Sonar Le, I don't know why, but even so it messes up
So you know your computer is broken....Windows 7 is telling me there's an unknown error everytime I try to update my computer.
Audacity will not work on a computer that's not in perfect order. You may need to turn it over to someone who can do a thorough check -- virus infection, memory test, hard drive health, etc. Any one of those could be wrong.
Just to test the obvious, have you turned the computer completely off, wait a minute, and restart? I personally only do that once a week, and sometimes not even then.

That tells you that power is getting to the microphone and the LED works. It doesn't really tell you anything else.Ascendicate wrote: The LED light on the mic lights up
Two items that are common to both set-ups are that you are using the same computer and the same operating system. A USB microphone should NOT be listed by Windows as "Unspecified under Devices and Printers".Ascendicate wrote: they sent me a whole new mic with the same issue.
The evidence is pointing very strongly at their being a problem with your Windows installation.
Trying the microphone on a different computer would be very useful as it could establish with certainty that the microphone is not the cause of the problem.

Yeah I'm going to try. Microsoft wanted $50 out of me for it. Pfffft. Screw that. I really appreciate all the help. Thank you again.
