I am wrinting a podcast walk which Ive recorded into 70 seperate MP3s which is impractical.

I would like one long MP3 but with chapters to enable fast forward etc. Is this possible on audacity? If so how?

Thanks

Do you still have the original (uncompressed) wav files? If you want your final show to be in MP3 format, then Audacity would need to uncompress the mp3's, then re-encode them, which will result in a significant loss of audio quality.

If you have the original WAV files, then probably the easiest way to do it is to burn the WAV files to CD - one CD for each chapter. You can then record the CD's to get the audio files back (use digital playback method when you record).

Thanks for that reply. I do have the original sections in WAV format and have no problem converting either way. I still have the problem of the end result needs to be 1 continuous file (thus making it easier for anyone to download) which contains within it 70 chapters so that the listener doesnt have to wind back and forth trying to get to the last point.

How about 70 mp3's and a playlist? Then the listener could just scroll through the playlist to find the chapter that they want?

Alternatively, release it as an ISO file that can be burned to CD, with on chapter per track.
