LADSPA plugins don't work after install
Audacity ver. 1.2.6 running under Windows XP Home, SP3. I ran the file LADSPA_plugins-win-0.4.15 which installed the plugins in the default, C:Program FilesAudacityPlug-Ins. All the plugins seem to be there in the sub-directory, but the Spectrum Analysis and two other plugins on the Analysis menu (Beat Finder; Silence Finder) are still greyed-out. Is there something I need to do so the program can find the plugins? Reinstall Audacity? Thanks..

Re: LADSPA plugins don't work after install
Whenever people start having wacky system problems like this, we push them over to Audacity 1.3.12.

Audacity 1.2 is really old and hasn't been updated, patched, or corrected in a very long time. Be sure and get the lame and FFMpeg from the same place you get the program. They're not all the same.

Re: LADSPA plugins don't work after install
I would certainly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 (There has been no development work or bug fixes to Audacity 1.2 for years, and Audacity 1.3.12 is a much better program).
Re. the actual problem, for most effects and tools;
Audacity must be "Stopped" (not playing, recording or paused)
You need to select some audio first - click and drag along the track to make a selection, or double click on the track to select the entire track.
