Installing version 1.4 on Vista

The printed manual informs me how in the control panel to set up Audacity in Sounds and Audio Devices. The manual does not specify what to do if Vista is the operating system. Is there an update of 1.4 which I can download so that I can set it up for Vista (home basic)? Or is there an other way around it? I have managed to record an LP on my PC, I can play it back, but I seem unable to export to either Mediaplayer or Roxio to copy to a cd. Any suggestions? Tomavdb

1.4 is not available yet - and will not be so until later this year at the earliest. The latest Beta release is 1.3.5 -but this seems to be a fairly stable release.

For advice on Vista try this page on the Audacity Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS

For making CDs - you need to export as WAVs at 44.1kHz 16-bit PCM stereo (the Red Book standard for CDs)/ Try this page on the Wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... o_burn_CDs
