I am currently training in Oral History techniques and am looking at potential recorders. One of the possible contenders records in BWAV format and I am wondering whether Audacity (Windows XP) will handle BWAV files and their conversion to MPEG3 format.

Is that the same as BWF format? Audacity 1.3.3 and later can import BWF files.
Audacity can export MP3 files with the aid of LAME
