All of a sudden I cannot use any effects in the program without it giving me the error message and asking me if I'd like to send the report to windows. I defragged my computer an hour ago, I'm using (to my knowledge) the latest version of audacity, I use XP, and I have plenty of RAM.
Any suggestions?
update:
actually, now it appears like it only happens if I apply more effects to one song. Is this an issue of a song being too overladen with effects?
thanks,
The Fish

How much hard drive space do you have?
Depending on what you are doing, Audacity can use a huge amount of disk space for temporary files.
By default Audacity stores temporary files on the C: drive
Look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" for the exact location.
Also, on the same page, check that "Hold recorded data in memory" is not selected.
