Assistance converting .flac to mp3 files

Greetings all -

I am still trying to learn the various aspects to Audacity, but I have a "probably" basic question to ask. I am trying to convert a couple of .flac files to .mp3. I have done this with Audacity before in the past, with no issues, but lately I have been having problems. In the past, I opened the .flac file and then exported it as an .mp3 with no issues. However lately, when I open the .flac file, its almost like its too big for the screen. The entire song file isn't displayed and it won't allow me to scroll over (and won't allow me to export it properly as an mp3).

Can someone assist me with this?

The first thing you should try is upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12
The FLAC format was modified a couple of years ago and the old 1.2.6 version does not have the modified FLAC support.
