I've been trying to figure out the problem on my own for a long time now but i give up.
When i record vocals on audacity while playing the song in the background, audacity will record the song too, and that makes it impossible to edit the vocals with out the final version sounding all weird and cut up, it also records and sound that is made from a different program, is their any way to prevent this from happening?

Re: Problem with recording vocals
Audacity is recording "Mix Out" from the machine instead of just your voice. This is the setting people use for recording internet radio shows. Windows gets painfully complicated when you want it to play to your headphones in addition to recording a microphone--and still keep everything separate.
By the way, if you do get it all to work, it's possible you're going to get a music track out of sync with your voice. This happens a lot with computerized audio systems due to latency problems. Use the Audacity tools to slide your voice back into sync while you're cutting it.
