Re: Recording

I haven,t been idle on this post. Yesterday, i was recording some cassettes and exporting them as ".WAV" files to my exclusively music partition on my computer. I was then using a trial version of a third part music converter "Swift". I was able to convert the files to MP3s and left them in the same partition folder "FMusic" and created a sub-directory "cassettes". I then went into WMP11 and under options i activated the search for music files that were not in the library and to add them. It found all my recordings and transferred them to the library and i was able to find them and listen to them and add one to a 'playlist'. Today, i tried the same 'method' using Audacity. I recorded a cassette and then went to "File>Export as Mp3 and 'Save' in "FMusic". I filled in the box "Edit Metadata" and saved the metadata. It then exported the file as Mp3 and it went into "FMusic". I didn,t 'Save' changes before closing. I then repeated the steps of yesterday of having WMP search for music files not in the library and it found the file and inserted it into the library and i was able to see it and play it. So, for now, i can at least transfer these cassettes into Mp3s and get them onto my hard drive and into the WMP library. Since i want to end up being able to add items to playlists and transfer them to an Mp3 player, i hope i,m at least half-way there. Thanks very much for your help. p.s. it looks like i will have no DRM problems unless that comes about when i start transferring files or tracks to an Mp3 player. After all, these were all store bot cassettes or compilations made from them. Thanks again.
