I'm new to Audacity, so forgive my ignorance. I want to record streaming audio, but my input choices are limited to "Microphone", "Digital Mic" and "Line In". I downloaded Audacity on an older laptop and I have several other selections, one of which allows me to record the audio stream. How do I add input devices to the drop down menu?
Thanks,
Lee

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Adding input devices
I have a fuzzy answer. One of the Windows device panels had a right-click option which will give you additional devices.

Re: Adding input devices
If your input devices are limited like this - you should be able to get recordings of streamed audio by looping back the output to the input on your soundcard (either internal/on-board soundcard or external soundcard).
