I have just urchased a USB cassette recorder to transfer my tape collection to my PC. I have loaded the Audacity software into my PC and when i go to record it seems to record OK. But when I go to play back my recording no sound comes out. I have exported it to my PC as a MP3 file and a WAV file and when i play either through windows media it plays but again no sound comes out. Please help me to find out what I am doing wrong?

I would strongly recommend upgrading to the latest Audacity 1.3.12 rather than the 1.2 version that probably shipped with your US deck. You can get 1.3 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
