Blank gaps when recording

Hi, I'm a newby to this forum. I regularly record my band practices from a dictaphone into my laptop using Audacity Beta. Occassionally I end up with blank gaps in my recordings - they normally last around 15 seconds or so. Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions to resolve. Thanks John

You need to get painfully detailed. I plugged the digital output of my model 456 DictaPhone Personal Recorder into the USB connection of my Lenovo Model 26 laptop running Windows7 and Audacity 1.2.6.

Or whatever you have. That's the kind if detail we need.

you mean that huge belt thing from the 50s
the thing is probably worn out
no oxide left to record on

if you can afford a cellphone
then you can afford to get a zoom h1 to record the band with
