Hi Team
Firstly, can I say how great the video guide to using Audacity was - I have a HP Vista laptop and found the paper instructions not relevant to Vista.
The problem I have is during the tutorial, there are instructions referring to a tab box to select microphone / line in on Audacity. On my copy (bought on internet) there is no such tab option. I can record using the laptop microphone but prefer to record records via amplifier to the computer. I have followed the instructions but without success. I guess inability to select line in may be the cause but value your suggestions

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

They are probably refering to the WINDOWS MIXER rather than to anything in Audacity.martin wrote:The problem I have is during the tutorial, there are instructions referring to a tab box to select microphone / line in on Audacity
This page has a section about it for Vista: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... bar_Issues
