Audacity Forum

My problem is that any time audacity is running, all sound coming from my sound card becomes distorted/scratchy. The problem continues even after audacity is closed, but it only starts only when it opens.I have tried reinstalling and the same problem exists. Does anyone know what's going on, and if so how to fix this?

If you are playing a CD in your usual media player, and while it is playing you launch Audacity, at what point does the sound become distorted?
