Right, me and a friend did a two track recording of a song, and as we were saving/just before, audacity crashed. My friend now tells me the file is there, but in 130 ten second clips that have been created in the backup process.
So we have the whole song, but its in bits that would take hours to stick together again.
From what he has said, i think the files are half and half for each track.
So my question is, is there a way to put all these little snippets back together into a recording, without having to cut and paste etc 130 different clips?
Thank you,
Will

Re: Compiling backup recordings
You lucked out. Normally, the question if how to recover a three hour, once in a lifetime recording.
There is a posting about how to recover from the pieces of a crashed machine.

However, nobody's ever gotten it to work, so the short answer is no. Everybody gets to the same point. "If only there was a way to glue all these shards and fragments back together." It's possible that the new Audacity 1.4 (not out yet) can do something like this with prepared tools.
