Converting files

Post by Alpha_Whiskey01 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:43 pm

Most of my music is in MP4 format and, as a result, won't play like it should normally. I need to know how to convert it back to MP3, or something of the sort, so that I can make ring tones. While in MP4 format, it loads just fine. But it plays as though its super compressed and sounds like one singular chirp, it plays so fast... Any help would be awesome... Thanks...

Audacity 1.2.x does not support MP4 files.
You could upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12 and install the optional FFMpeg :
http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tallffmpeg

Alternatively, you could use a file format converter program such as the free SUPER by erightsoft.
