Jump to points in Track
Not sure if it possible to do what I want in audacity but I'll ask anyway. I have a long interview taped and want to make it so that people can jump to certain points in the audio. I have the audio broken down into 4 tracks (chapters) but want people to be able to select certain points in each chapter. I can break up each chapter using the label track and exporting it as multiple. Then using Nero make it play continually but then I end up with lots of tracks but want to only keep my original 4. Is this possible?
Re: Jump to points in Track
Audio CDs support "tracks" and that's all. You can choose how many "tracks" by splitting the recording into the required number of files in the way that you have described.
Audio CDs don't support "sub-tracks" or "jump points" of any sort other than tracks, though some CD players will allow you to "skip" to a later point in a track.
Provided that your optical drive supports "DAO" mode, Nero is able to burn "gapless" CDs. That is, the gap between tracks is set to zero rather than the more usual 2 second pause. If you set Nero to record a gapless CD, then before burning the CD you could manually insert "pauses" between some of the tracks. When burning a gapless CD the "pause" is set to zero for all tracks except the first track. If you view the "properties" of a track in Nero, you can change the gap from zero to a number greater than zero and this will create a pause before the track plays.

Re: Jump to points in Track
Thanks Steve. That's what I thought. I have set Nero to 0 pause time and it plays without stopping just ended up with a lot of Tracks. On a different note Nero seems to have enhanced any background hiss. In the original there is minimal noise but it seems to have doubled after Nero burns to CD. Any reason for this?

How are you playing the CD?

Re: Jump to points in Track
Think I have it sorted by using neros noise removal feature for each track but in the end didn't need this as being kept on the HD after all.
Thanks for your help Steve.
