I have a new PC a HP6710B. I have tried several times to record a demo from pioneer cdjs and mixers. I am running an AUX cable out of the mixer and in to the AUX in on the PC. When I receord anything it sound like it has been recorded in an echo chamber? It sounds hollow.

I have the settings exactly the same as I did with my ASUS PC and the ASUS worked fine.

Any ideas?

The HP6710B does not have an "AUX" input. The only audio inputs listed for the HP6710B are: "stereo microphone in, integrated mono microphone".
I think the problem is that the sound card on the new computer is not up to the job. The best solution is probably to use an external USB sound card that has "Line Level" inputs.

if you have realtek
then check the options
often defaults to really oddball choices
one of which is echo/reverb/concrete pipe/ etc type effect
