Sound cuts in and out, HELP!

I did some guitar recordings with a minidisc recorder and uploaded them into audacity. I then edited them and saved them as audacity files (they played fine at the time). It has been a few weeks, but I just tried to play them again and now they all cut in and out at random spots. The files look normal until I zoom in on the spots where the sound cuts out, then the lines disappear as if there was nothing there. I have used audacity many times before with no problems, and I did nothing differently this time. I really don't want to have to record these songs again as I put alot of work into it, so any help salvaging these files would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have inadvertently deleted some of the project data.
