lame file to work audacity not opening

have downloaded it heaps but when try open it,computer says ???????,cannot open is there attachment file somewhere fix this??
My recommendation would be to upgrade Audacity to version 1.3.12 which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
then follow the instructions for installing Lame here: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3
If you still have problems, please describe exactly which step you get stuck on and what if an error messages you get.
