Audacity 1.3.3 not load

I had Audacity 1.2.6 and recorded a tape. Wanted to clean up some noise levels and this version wasn't enough so I loaded in Audacity 1.3.3. This installed fine and ran fine. But I shut down my computer and when I went back to it the next day, the 1.3.3 would "run" but I couldn't get into any screen. The icod would be down on the task bar but I couldn't pull it up. I could go back to the 1.2.6 version but would like to get 1.3.3 useful again.

I tried uninstalling both and reinstalling. 1.3.3 still does not work. 1.2.6 does.
