It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12
http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

In Audacity 1.3.12:
Edit menu > Preferences > Devices
check that your USB device is selected as the recording device.
check that the sound card that you are using for playback is selected as the playback device.

That was painful. The web site has no good pictures so I had to download the instruction book.

Do you have the USB light on the front of the US-100? Do you have the little switch on the back set for "Mic?" Advance the left knob "Input" until the green "SIG" light on the left of the US-100 flickers.

Go into Windows Control Panels and select the US-100 for recording. Follow the instructions on Page 14.

After all that, launch Audacity and set Edit > Preferences > Recording, so it's looking at the same thing as the Windows Control Panel.

I would probably start with Audacity sound settings of 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. You can get fancy later. Restart Audacity if you change any of these settings. Press Record in Audacity and watch for the bouncing red sound meters and the creation of the blue waves. Forget listening for a minute. First things first.

Dear Kozi,

Thanks a lot for so much of of effort for helping me out. I was finally able to make it.. after many attmpts.. which required "sync"ing of all the components of the system.

Regards,
