Hi,
This problem is probably unresolveable but I will take a chance on looking a total wally!

The above AI has high Z inputs on channels 5 and 6 but Audacity will not find them! All I can setup is chs' 1&2. This would not be a problem with my M-A fast track pro as inputs 1&2 are HiZ, but I want to setup the ESI for guitar recording in Audacity. I have other software, Cubase E4 e.g. but setting up tracks for a quick take in that is a pain.

N.B.I only want to record TWO (or even one!) tracks at a time.

The pc is an HP CQ5304UK W7/64bit.

Have you increased the number of recording channels in Audio I/O Preferences? Is there a "multi" recording device that will record all the channels? You can't pick and choose channels to record, just record them all and delete the surplus ones.

It seems you would be happy to record only two tracks, but if you want to record more than two tracks, this is normally possible with ESI cards if you use the EWDM drivers. With many other cards/devices, you will only see a separate "device" for each pair of channels unless you compile Audacity with ASIO support, so two channels will be the maximum you can record.

If you still have problems, try 1.3.12 Beta.
