missing data on one stereo track

I opened a file and found the left track had no music. I want to
copy what's on the right track onto the left track so I get music
from both speakers.

1) Split the stereo track into two tracks - from the little black downward pointing triangle there is a dropdown available - one option is Split Stereo Track
2) select the track with the sound in it and Copy the track (use CTRL+C or Edit>Copy)
3) Paste this into the other track (CTRL+V)
4) re-join the two tracks - from the little black triangle in the topmost of the two tracks use the option Make Stereo Track
And you're done ...

Thanks for that, works fine. I notice that the file size just about doubles when I copy the track with the sound in it to the track that has no sound. Before your tip, I would burn a CD with the file that had just one track with music. Then I would tie left and right inputs to my sound card and connect them to the output of my amplifier that had the music on it. Then, I'd play the CD and record. The result was two channels of sound with almost no increase in file size over the "one track" file.
