Using my M-audio interface to record with audacity

Post by stevebabe13 » Thu Oct 28, 2010 5:50 am

So i have an M-Audio Fastrack interface and I don't know how to use it with audacity. I've been able to use it for garageband but it doesn't seem to use it for a mic input on audacity and I don't know how to change it. Help?

Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12
Select the M-Audio in "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices".
You must have the Windows drivers installed for the M-Audio as Audacity does not support ASIO.

I'm having the exact same issue.

Can you go into more details about this? I see my fast track device in the recording device manager, but it never picks up any sound.

It's much more helpful if you describe the issue that you have rather than saying that it is exactly the same as another poster.
The previous poster did not say if they had upgraded to Audacity 1.3.12, which operating system they were using, how they had set up their sound card, if they had checked the Windows Control Panel settings ..... and you've not said anything about that either. Please give a full and detailed description of your set-up - too much information is better than not enough.
