Hi
I have a problem with my USB condenser microphone (Samson G track) won't work with stereo mix on window vista.
Previously, I recorded my voice from computer microphone along with the backing track instrumental music via stereo mix and it worked fine.
I just have new G track, I intent to do what I did with the better microphone. I can't get G track work with stereo mix.
Is there any way for me to use my USB mic and Stereo Mix at the same time? or does Audacity allow me to record my voice from G track with the backing track from my computer at the same time? Please anyone help me?.....
Thank you
How do I get USB mic working with Realtek?

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

USB microphones completely bypass the internal sound card - this is one of the main reasons that they can give better recording quality.
I would highly recommend that you use Audacity 1.3.12. If you are using an older version you should update to 1.3.12 (for version number see Audacity "Help > About Audacity")
Import the backing track into Audacity (File menu > Import > Audio)
Then record the vocals over the top.

I tried it what you suggested, it seemed to work but my voice is delayed to the backing track for some reason after I recorded it I don't know why. Maybe my setting is not good. I have to play more with it.
anyway, Thank you very much

You can adjust the position of the new track using the "Time Shift" tool. Look for a button with a double headed arrow (<->) or press the F5 key. You will then be able to drag a track left/right so that they line up correctly.beinspired88 wrote:it seemed to work but my voice is delayed to the backing track for some reason after I recorded it I don't know why.
Doing this will become quite tedious, but fortunately it can be done automatically (in Audacity 1.3.12) by setting up "Latency Correction". See here for more details: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tency_Test
