Recording Skype calls with Audacity 1.2.6

Post by kbsnd1 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 11:30 pm

I came to Audacity from a blog stating it can be used to record calls on Skype. Please detail how one can record Skypein and Skypeout calls (not to/from the Skype userid, but to/from Skype phone #'s)? I have a Win2K laptop, and use a plain, analog audio headset for Skype.

I downloaded a program called MX Skype Recorder and it did an excellent job of recording both sides of the conversation. Now I just have to figure out how to apply noise removal to only one "side" of the conversation (my side had mic noise) and I'll be all set!

I think I figured it out. I had to split the stereo track into two separate tracks first.
