No Sound from Imported WMD Files

Post by drufuller5565 » Sun Apr 27, 2008 1:52 pm

I am trying to import into Audacity then edit sound from an Olympus digital voice recorder. Since these files only available in the WMD format, Audacity doesn't recognize it. When I import the sound into Windows Media, then into Audacity, I can see the wave form but there is no sound. Your forum says the original recording has to be available to hear sound. Nothing works. It would be nice to use this produce to edit my actualities from interviews to use on my blog. There is no way to reset the format to something different on my Olympus.

You are correct that Audacity does not support the WMD format. You need to use a format converter (such as "SUPER") to convert them to WAV, or some other supported format.
SUPER is made by erightsoft.
