Got everything working, including mp3 addon from LAME, but...I need to move my mp3 recordings into email so I can send them to other people. Can't begin to figure that out...and find no reference to it anywhere in the forums. Could you please let me know *how* the heck I can do that? (Running XP Home, Compaq Presario w/1gig ram, 3000+ AMD Sempron processor) Please, good friends...help, (in simple terms), if you can.

Most email programs have provision for sending "attachments" to email messages. Basic email will send words and the more advanced emails will send fonts and colors, but basically words. The designers figured out right away that it would be good to send binary data files in addition to words.

You need to know exactly where your MP3 files are. Documents and Settingskozdesktoppiano2.mp3

Then open up your email program, type a simple address and English message and then look around for a message or icon that invites you to "Attach File?" Click on that and it should ask you the location of the file you want to attach. See: Documents, etc.

That's it. When you press "Send," the address, English message, and the attached music file will squirt themselves to the destination.

Many email systems will not let you send very large emails--and that includes attachments. So no, you're not going to email a four hour long radio show to anybody. For that, you need to use one of the other fine methods of sending large files from here to there. File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Anonymous Posting Services, Personal Web Site Outboxes, etc.

Be prepared for some people to refuse to open your music file because attachments are a really good way to send somebody a virus--and everybody knows that.

Another thing that gets people's attention is emailing a relatively minor attachment, but do it to 500 of your closest friends. That's usually enough to make the Systems Administrators smack you up side the head as they run by on their way to clear the smoke from the email server.

Also, if you send a 3 MB e-mail to someone with a slow connection (dial up), they won't thank you for it as it could take them an hour to download it. Always check with the recipient before e-mailing huge files.
