i am using the ttusb turntable.

when i plug in my turntable into the usb port and set up audacity to use it, my windows media player stops playing through the speakers. the WMP loads fine, it just doesnt play audio. is there a setting that i am missing? i had it working before, but i have a new computer and forgot how i had it set up last time. any help?

the USB turnatable has hijacked you PCs aufio output as well as its input - and the TT doesn't have speakers.

All you need to do is to set windows output to your onboard soundcard (do this from the Control Panel) - and you may need to set Audacity similarly (go to Edit>Preferences>Audio I/O) - and you may need to stop and restart Audacity for the changes to take effect,

don't worry - it catches a lot of people out :)

The worst offender is the ION ITTUSB manual which totally fails to mention this important step.
