Make the audio start/end UPDATE whilst adjusting boundary

Hi
Not have a large audio vocabulary I will try to explain myself.

I highlight a part of audio and shift+play to make it repeat itself
As I drag
Click and drag to move left/right selection boundary
cursor left and right to change start/end point

Is there a way to make the audio keep starting itself automatically back (update) from where I move the left/start point to
WITHOUT having to click STOP>Shift+play

it would make it a lot easier to capture the exact part of the audio I need (say for sampling purposes)

Does this make sense to anyone?
I'm sure a friend of mine had an option in Sony Sound Forge or something similar years ago?
Sorry but I dont know what the exact term for it is?
thanks
shippo

Yes it does make sense, but unfortunately no you cannot currently do that with Audacity.
You can use the Spacebar (or SHIFT + Spacebar) which is a bit more convenient than clicking the play button.

Thats a shame. Do you happen to know the correct terminology for what I am posting about?
Maybe I could suggest it for a future update then?

Thanks
Shippo

I don't think there's "correct" terminology.
Perhaps something like:

"Adjust selection during Loop-Play"
