how do i silence keystrokes from recording

Post by adriane61 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 3:49 pm

Hello,
i could not find this easily in a topic search- so i apologize if it's been asked- is there a way to turn off the sounds made
by typing/using the keyboard while recording? if i use my keyboard while recording streaming audio- and i do this a lot at work- on the playback i hear bleeps & doinks that were not audible while typing & recording, so there must be some kind of internal thing going on. i'm using winxp sp3 by the way.
this is ruining my recordings as you can well imagine!
TIA- Adriane

This could be interesting. You're not really recording Streaming Audio. You're recording the Computer Sound System which happens to be presenting Streaming Audio, or YouTube, etc. Yes, you get the keyboard sound effects. I have to watch that, too.

I'd be in Windows Control Panels finding out how to turn the keyboard sounds off.

You could be listening to the computer data management devoted to whatever else you're doing at the time. Email, Spreadsheets, Photoshop Pictures... That's a lot harder to fix.

Windows isn't really a multi-tasking environment, although they keep insisting it is.

HMMM...I take it you're a mac user?
well alright then- guess i'll go fiddle around the control panel then. i'm surprised no one else has this
problem, or has it & did not figure out what to do about it!
thanks for the lead...

That and two computers. Email on one while the other is recording.

It sounds like you need to turn off the "Sounds Theme".
