Any ideas on why my Dell Inspiron laptop with version 1.2.6 is missing a drop down box on the top right hand side of the toolbar with "wave out", "phone" , "line in" , etc... but my old Dell 8400 desktop with the same 1.2.6 does have it. I can't capture audio without selecting "wave out".

My New Dell Inspiron with patented Vista Technology?

Vista closed off a lot of those way too handy shortcuts. If there's no other way to do it, see if Total Recorder is available for Vista. Let's see what the Windows people have to say.
