Permanently increase Gain?

Hello everyone! I just got a mic and downloaded Audacity for some vocal projects I have to do for school. However, the mic is very quiet and hard to hear. When recording with Audacity I found that increasing the Gain to +30 makes it sound right.

However, I mess up a lot, so I've been splicing a lot of clips together. Changing the slider for each one is a little annoying and I was wondering if I could set it to always have it at +30 gain?

Have you looked in your sound card settings to see if you can increase the recording volume? On many computers there is an option to boost the microphone input by an additional 20 dB.

Fiddled around with the settings; didn't really change anything that hadn't already been changed, but it's magically louder. @[email protected]
