Hi,
I have been recording meetings on a voice recorder(Olympus voice recorder) and importing the wav file to my XP laptop, and using Audacity to export to MP3. This works, but the resulting track skips when played on a portable MP3 player (whether on a memory stick or on a burned CD), but plays fine on my laptop.
I changed the bit rate from 128 to 48, but still get the problem.
Does anyone have any experience of this problem ?
yours desperately
Tony

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: exporting to MP3 from Audacity 1.2.6
Audacity uses VBR for mp3 encoding by default, but some mp3 players are not very good with VBR.
Audacity 1.3.4 offers VBR or CBR, so download v.1.3.4 and try setting your mp3 options to CBR and see if that is better.
