install and then change language

Post by don_s » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:51 pm

I've installed ok, changed the program language to russian, and most all the menus are filled with question marks. i changed the xp operating system to russian language and keyboard also, same result. we installed audacity on my father in laws laptop (he's in moscow, all russian machine) same result. both systems toggle back to english ok. help? both machines are garden variety older dell, a nothing special desktop and laptop. older. cheaper. the program works ok for the most part.

i went to the preferences tab and verified russian is selected on both machines.

next, i tried to fibd the 'audacity.cfg' file in

•Windows 2000/XP: Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacity

the documents and settings folder doesnt have any <user name> etc. in it. then i searched for the audacity.cfg file, cant find it. i suspect thats the problem, the cfg file doesnt seem to exist anywhere.

I think that you may need to use Audacity 1.3.12. You can get it from the main Audacity web site: http://audacityteam.org/download/
