Can I edit the volume of a video clip?

Post by Reeko17 » Sat Apr 12, 2008 4:43 pm

I want to amplify the volume of a video clip I have, but not sure if I can do this with Audacity. Is there any way to import the video (with its audio), edit the audio then plug it back into the video??

Audacity is an audio editor and does not support video.

It is possible to record audio into Audacity from a video, by playing the video in another application (or on an external player), but you will need a video editing program to put the sounds back into the video.

Most video editors have some kind of audio editor built in, but if it can export/import the audio, then Audacity can be useful for doing more sophisticated editing.
