Playback too fast!!
Every time I log out of my computer, any work on Audacity I have done before will not play back at normal speed. When I log back on, any tracks that I had edited since will still play at normal speed. But of course, when I go home at night I have to log out and then the next day absolutely nothing will play at normal speed. I have the audio files saved to a drive on my computer but even when I transferred them to a CD it still sounds like the chipmucks. What is going on? and How do I fix it?

Re: Playback too fast!!
Traditionally, any music that plays really fast is a result of importing compressed sound files that Audacity doesn't know how to properly decode. They don't always break right away, but they do become unstable. Where did the files come from?
Do you have windows set so you can see file extensions? If the files are not something.wav or something.mp3, then you will need to convert the files to one of those formats to edit in Audacity.
