I've looked through pretty much every topic that somewhat deals with recording problems and still I couldn't find anything...sorry if this has been asked before.
It's like this: I'm using a Logitech USB headset together with the newest version of Audacity and I use it to record myself singing along with karaoke versions of certain songs. I load the song into Audacity, no problem at all, I start to play the song and I see that the slider for microphone volume is set to zero. I drag the slider to the right, increasing the microphone volume, but then my audio playback becomes muted. I un-mute the audio playback, which causes my microphone volume to drop to zero again.
Does that make any sense? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: Nevermind~! I fixed already! ^___^

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Recording problem
These headsets are not really designed for music, they are intended for such things as internet telephone. It sounds like the drivers are preventing you from having both headphones and microphone at the same time (which is what you would want for a phone call). The easiest solution would be to get new headphones and/or microphone and record through your computer soundcard.
