HI,
i started out with a wave file of 436mb imported it and after a lot of editing exported it back into a wave file.
this time the wave file is 763 mb which is too big now to fit on a CD.
why after deleteing parts is the file now so big and what can i do ?
Should i have exported it differently or not "exported" it at all?

Re: increased size of wav file after editing
I somehow doubt that - CD's are defined by the Red Book standard which is 16-bit, PCM, Stereo, 44.1kHz
This Wikipedia article gives some more info on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Book_( ... _standard)
Most CD players won't even play CDs that have MP3s on them - PCs will play CDs that have MP3s on them - and a few modern CD players will play them - but the one in your car, your truck , your boat - unlikely ...

Re: increased size of wav file after editing
So what WC is saying, is make sure that you export as 16 bit 44.1 kHz stereo and you will see straight away if it will fit on a CD or not. If you use Audacity 1.3.4 you can easily change the project rate to 44.1 from the selection toolbar, and then set the bit depth to 16 bit from the export options. In 1.2.6 I think you have to set it in "Edit > Preferences" (not got Audacity 1.2.6 on this computer).
