How do you automatically labeling Artist and other values?

Post by nwimmer123 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 4:36 am

I'm using the audacity 1.3.12 beta on Win XP and am copying my vinyl collection to mp3. I have no trouble cutting the tracks, labeling them and then doing a multiple export to MP3, but I can't figure out how to assign the other values: artist, album, genre and year. so that they stay the same for the whole multiple export and yet have the track #'s and names change based on how I labeled them. I tried saving the template and then loading it for each next track, but then it changed the track # and name while keeping the assigned values. Anyone know how to assign these values?

I love the program and end up typing in the artist and album names manually, but that really slows me down.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

If the tags are the same for each track except the Track Number and Track Title, enter the other tags at File > Open Metadata Editor before you export. Then you can go to the Import / Export Preferences and uncheck "Show Metadata Editor prior to export step" to stop it appearing for each track. See:
