I literally got Audacity yesterday. I Tried to import a second track to a song, recorded on another device, and .wma is how my computer wants to classify it. So, Audacity won't let me open it. I downloaded ffmpeg, which I'm not certain what that it, and it still won't import.

Please help? Also, everything I have found on this forum is in terms I don't understand, so I could use a bit of tutoring. ^^

FFMpeg does not work with Audacity 1.2
FFMpeg provides encoding/decoding of many audio file formats that would otherwise not be available in Audacity (such as .wma)
To use FFMpeg in Audacity you will need to upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12
Here are the instructions for installing FFMpeg in Audacity 1.3.12

We will do our best to explain things as clearly as possible. If there's bits that you don't understand, please ask and we'll try to explain.
