Alright, I'm a first time user with audacity and I need help.
Ok, I would import an audio file (beat) to audacity and everything would be fine.
The beat would play nice, no problem.
Then, when I hit the record button a new track would come up to record but the beat that I had would become distorted.
Only when I deleted the audio recording track, the beat turned back to normal.
I know its not the beat because I've tryed many others and the same problem still occured.
Hopefully someone can help me...

I have exactly the same problem and am searching the forums for a solution. Hopefully someone will have an answer!
Re: Recording problems.
Well, I thinked I've fixed my problem - maybe this will help you.
In your preferences, make sure the Software Playthrough (Play new track while recording it) option in UNchecked. I don't know how mine got checked, as I've recorded before, but somehow it did.
Hope that helps
