mono saving errors

Post by lololbass » Mon Apr 07, 2008 1:13 am

in audacity when i record mono it only records in the left speaker. i know it has to do with my soundcard etc and im not trying to get it to record with both evenly. however i use pyro to save it as mono and play it in audacity i can see it plays both as an even sound like i want. when i try to convert something to mono with audacity by clicking 'audio track' upper left of the sound file and make it mono it is greyed out and i cant select it whether i highlight th soundfile or not. so i go to tracks and pick 'stereo to mono' and it converts it to mono but when i try to save it (bit-rate mode constant , 64 kbps (want them very small), fast, stereo ((no mono option))) it gets an error and crashes and when i restart and try to recover the audio file it doesnt work. how do i make my files mono but even on each speaker? version beta 1.3.4. need the beta version cause it truncates silence which is what im mainly using
