My microphone is plugged in (Samson C01U USB Mic) and the light is on and everything, but in the recording device selection in Audacity's preferences, I can't select my microphone - it's not in the list.
It used to be. Back before my PC hard drive wiped itself and everything had to be reset.
I don't have the installation CD for the mic anymore, that could be the problem...
What can I do to gt myself recording again asap???!

Re: Audacity Won't Find my MIC!
When you talk about selecting the input, are you talking about the edit -> preferences -> audio i/o menu? That's where the mic should be selected, not the drop-down menu on the main screen.
If that doesn't help, then maybe Samson offers the drivers as a download on their website?
One final thing, after the mic is plugged in, Audacity may need to be restarted in order to find the mic.
