Missing Project file (.aup) and bak file

Post by k2syed » Fri Sep 03, 2010 11:05 pm

Hello,

I recently saved a recording, then closed audacity. Afterwards, I wanted to work on the file again, but cannot locate the project file. The only thing I see for that recording is the raw data folder with the .au files listed in b0000, b0001....and so on.

I tried to use the Audacity Recovery Tool, but it's creating 56 blocks of Audio 2 channels (stereo recording). I've done recoveries before from the Temp folder where the recovery tool only creates 1 block each for each channel for stereo.

My last resort is to import the .au files manually, but I'd rather leave that as an absolute last resort considering there are over 900 of the .au files I'd have to cut and paste....

Please let me know if there is ANY WAY to work on the Audacity project with just having the raw data folder to work with.

Thanks in advance!

What happens when you click the .aup you want in File > Recent Files? If it says the file can't be found, try searching the computer for *.aup so it lists all the .aup files.

Try putting subsets of the .au files in smaller folders and recover left and right .wavs from each of those folders.
