Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Saving/Exporting files

Post by sybil » Sat Aug 28, 2010 3:41 am

All my options under File are grayed out with the exception of "New", "Open", "Recent files" and "Exit". So, I can't save or export, the first time I used it everything worked great, now, nothing. Any ideas why? Thanks!

Did you press Stop at the end of your show?

Yes. I recorded one cassette tape, everything worked fine. I'm trying to record a second one, on a different day after I turned everything off and started from scratch. Now, everything is grayed out. Hmmmmm...

Our first natural reaction is to stop using Audacity 1.2. 1.2 is seriously old and not fully supported on newer machines.

You can put both versions on your machine safely, just only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

Start there.
